The air pollution forecasts are based on the online coupled chemical transport model, WRF-Chem. This model provides daily forecasts of key pollutants, such as ground-level ozone and particulate matter, for the next three days. The initial and boundary conditions for the pollutant forecasts are extracted from the Integrated Forecasting System (IFS) model of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). Anthropogenic emissions are derived from the CAMS emissions cadastre. The model area (grid resolution: 3 x 3 km) covers Central Europe.
