To better represent local effects such as the urban heat island, numerical weather forecasts from the AROME model are dynamically downscaled to the sub-kilometer scale using a physical modeling approach. The SURFEX land-surface model is employed for this purpose, incorporating high-resolution land-cover data as additional input. Due to the high spatial resolution (100 m), computations are performed for selected urban areas rather than for the entire AROME model domain. The present dataset is a demonstration dataset for Vienna.
