Risks from IMportant insect PESTs (RIMPEST) assessed the effect of climate change on the potential risks of ten major insect pests of the most important crops in Austria and related adaptation options.
RIMPEST-1 Pest monitoring data
Observed phenological events in DOY (Day Of Year) for Aphididae (Abphis fabae, Acyrthosiphon pisum, Myzus persicae), African cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera) and European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis), including different sites and years in Austria.

RIMPEST assessed future risks of ten key insect pests present in Austria to major crops under climate change. The work packages included the validation and improvement of pest models for Austrian conditions and the simulation and analysis of pest trends under future climate and cropping scenarios. Project results provide extended knowledge for stakeholders and recommendations about short to long term adaptation options for crop pest management. |
