The WRF-Chem model is used for forecasting desert dust transport. The model domain extends from the equator to Scandinavia (grid resolution: 0.2° x 0.2°). Since 2022, the forecasts have also been provided by the “Sand and Dust Storm Warning Advisory and Assessment System” (SDS-WAS), an initiative established by the World Meteorological Organization. The forecasts from all models participating in the initiative, as well as their evaluation against observational data, can be found on the website of the Spanish Meteorological Service (AEMET)
