High-resolution bioclimatic indicators were generated for the federal states of Tyrol and Vorarlberg, covering the past period (1991–2020) as well as three selected climate scenarios (2036–2065, 2071–2100).
The spatial resolution is 50 x 50 m.
BIOCLIM Mean Annual Temperature: Calculated from daily mean air temperatures at a height of 2 m.
Mean Wind Speed: Calculated from daily mean wind speeds at a height of 10 m.
Total Precipitation: Average annual precipitation total.
Length of the Growing Season: The growing season is defined as the duration (in days) of the longest continuous period of days with a mean temperature of at least 5°C. However, an earlier or later period of such warm days is included in the growing season if it lasts longer than the sum of all intervening cooler days.
Climatic Water Balance: Calculated as total precipitation minus potential evapotranspiration.
Number of Foehn Days: The daily mean wind speed at a height of 10 m at the grid point must exceed 3 m/s.
Annual Growing Degree Days (GDD) above 5°C: Calculated from daily mean air temperatures at a height of 2 m. Threshold: 5°C.
Version 2 corrects erroneous spatial shifts that occurred in the previous version.

| The data contained in this dataset was first published through the Climate Change Centre Austria Data Centre (CCCA-DC). Due to the decommissioning of the CCCA-DC, the data was transferred to the GeoSphere Austria Datahub in 2024. During the transfer, the granularity and structure of the metadata were adjusted in accordance with the dataset's authors to meet the requirements of the GeoSphere Austria Datahub. | |

In BIOCLIM, selected bioclimatic indicators were calculated. Historical data were derived primarily from station data, while future data were calculated using climate models and adjusted based on the historical data. The climate indicators were selected in consultation with the state forestry departments of Tyrol and Vorarlberg. |
