Daily maximum and minimum near-surface air temperature and precipitation of a multi-model ensemble of Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) general circulation models (GCMs) are bias-adjusted and downscaled to a resolution of 1x1~km with the local observational data set BhutanClim (https://doi.org/10.1002/joc.8125) with the methods described in Lehner et al., 2023 (https://doi.org/10.5194/ascmo-9-29-2023). The time period for training the statistical model of bias adjustment is 1996-2014 as this is the period where the observational station network was the densest. The models were selected based on their ability to reproduce local precipitation patterns, seasonal patterns and interannual variability, which results in 14 models for each Shared Socioeconomic Pathway (SSP).
