This dataset contains the standardised precipitation-evapotranspiration index SPEI calculated from the observational dataset FORSITE. The index gives information on the water balance (precipitation - potential evapotranspiration) in standardised terms, i.e. standard deviations from a reference period. The period used for this dataset is 1991-2020. The temporal resolution is annual, containing the lowest SPEI-value of the rolling 3-month period centered on each month from April-September.
